justcloud.com - Sign up for a free 15MB account. Large scale cloud hosting for all of your data. (upgrade to higher storage amounts for $5 to $8/monthly).

sendspace- I highly recommend this free utility that lets you send large files (such as your XSitePro template export file, .xse) to me, or to anyone else.

yousendit- An alternative for sending large files to anyone.

Acronis True Image  - This excellent backup software will let you take a snapshot image of your entire hard drive for backups. It will let you completely restore your computer in the case of a catastrophe and is highly recommended.

SearchMyFiles  - Free tool to help you search for files, better and faster then Windows Find. Another great free utility from NirSoft.

dnGREP - A great tool for Search/Replace in Windows (all versions). Do search and replace functions in a second, bookmark and remember past searches, and more (free), another option is Simple Search and Replace from RJL  Software.

EaseUS Todo Backup - A completely free alternative to creating a backup image. I used to use Acronis, but lately their lack of initiative to make the latest versions easier to use has led me to this.

Dropbox - Looking for free storage, online? Dropbox is it. Get a folder on your computer to drop files to save them. (2GB of space is free)

Norton Online Backup - I've tested out many of the online backup services, and this is one that I trust. You can backup as many as 5 computers to one online location (stay under 30GB with your backups for the best price). Backup your most important files that change daily here and use a full backup image, such as Acronis (above) for everything else.

Microsoft Live SkyDrive - Microsoft has started to offer a huge free space (up to 25GB) online. Setup an account and you can use the space for backing up or for your photos and videos.

UltraEdit - My preferred plain text editor and coding editor. I've used it for nearly 20 years. You cannot go wrong with this one editor.  Pricey, but Highly Recommended.

NotePad++ - A freeware editor that is very good.

TextPad - A reasonably priced editor with a free trial. Also very good.

BitDefender - my Internet Security software of choice. Excellent, fast, and does not slow down your computer as much as Norton Internet Security.

MalwareTips.com - A great site for helping you remove viruses, trojans, and any other type of ransomware, malware or anything else from your computer.  Here's an example of removing Astromenda.com virus.

CleanMem - I use this ever day (actually about every 20 minutes) as it frees memory leaks and fragments that is inevitable with Windows (yes even Windows 7). If you have are seeing disappearing screen display elements (windows, checkboxes, toolbars, etc) then get this excellent free utility. It even works in Windows 7/8 (free).

Startup Delayer - Excellent software to delay programs that you have running at startup. This has been much needed for years as part of Windows itself.  R2 Studios has released this as a free version with a paid upgrade ($20.00).  Well worth it.

West Wind Technologies - A great site with free (and paid) utilities as well as detailed Windows coding information for integrating your website.  Find the West Wind Technologies blog here. Find their West Wind Web Monitor here.

Chocalatey - A Windows Package Manager (similar to YUM on the Linux site).  Many 3rd party packages are offered for download.

CCleaner - This is the number one PC/Windows cleaner available. Get it and clean the junk from your drive, you'll be glad you did ($24.95 upgrade to paid version, but the free version works just fine).

Autoruns - A free utility from Microsoft to help you track down programs that are running automatically on startup. Excellent. Also see this page on how to use it: Hunt down autostart programs wherever they hide. See this forum post about why it may not work under Windows 8.

RegScanner - Find and search in Windows Registry from Nirsoft. Also see their entire list of free Windows System Utilities.

Hijack This - Excellent free utiility for finding Malware that may have installed itself into your Windows system.

MSConfig - tips on using this free utility that is included in Windows to locate services that are slowing down your computer.

Macecraft - jv16 Power Tools - Macecraft's supreme product for cleaning the junk from your PC (both the registry and otherwise) ($29.95 upgrade to Pro after you try the free trial version).

Defraggler - The makers of CCleaner (Piriform) have created a masterpiece defragmenter that will defragment individual files as well as entire drives (free).

Windows Defender - Microsoft has come out with their own Spyware and Malware cleaner. This looks to be a real good asset, as well as it cleans/removes additional software which may be causing you problems (free).

Malwarebytes - Anti-Malware that is one of the best. Find every bit of the spyware and malware on your computer (free, or upgrade to pro for $24.95).

Windows Secrets Solutions for a sluggish PC - If there has been one goto place that I always trust when it comes to hardware/software cleaning, it is Windows Secrets. This one website (particularly the author: Fred  Langa) has been responsible for a ton of saved time. Follow the steps on these articles (House Call 2012: Fixing a sluggish PC, and Putting Registry/System Cleanup Apps To The Test)  (use the recommended tools, most notably Macecraft jv16 Power Tools and CCleaner).

CPU-Z - First, find out what exactly you have in your system, before you can understand what it is capable of. A free utility for checking your current system configuration (free).

IE Gallery - Some little known secrets about IE 9 and beyond. Interesting, though you may want to also look at Windows Apps for Windows 8/IE 10
